I recently returned from a trip to San Antonio, Texas, home of the Alamo. I visited that historic site and recalled the significant events that happened there.
Once in the middle of nowhere, it was constructed as a Catholic mission. As San Antonio built up around it, it now sits in the middle of the city center. The battle between the Texans and the Mexicans for territorial control is one of the most famous in America’s history.
